Join the staff of CASA of Oklahoma County for our Open House! (IMPORTANT: You will need to enter through the 1st floor entrance on the west side of the building and a CASA staff member will meet you there. You must have a State ID/Drivers License to check in with security.)
CASA of Oklahoma County provides trained court appointed volunteers who advocate for the best interest of abused or neglected children in the juvenile court system. Our organization provides an integral and arguably crucial role in the court process, but many in our community haven’t yet heard of the Oklahoma County CASA program!
When a child is removed from the home due to abuse or neglect, what begins can be the scariest time of his or her young life – the journey through foster care. Anyone can submit a request for a CASA volunteer to be assigned to a juvenile deprived case – and in that way CASA functions in an important community service role. It is the duty of our volunteers to familiarize themselves with the child and those involved in the case to make best interest recommendations to the judge. The goal? To find a safe, permanent home for every child in the foster system, either through reunification, adoption, or some other long-term placement.
This Open House event is free to the public and will feature a brief introduction to CASA’s work in the community as well as some testimonials and a Q&A with a longtime CASA volunteer as well as our staff members. Light refreshments will be provided.
We hope you will join us!
