Join the staff of CASA of Oklahoma County for an informal social distance-friendly Yoga Day and CASA Info Session at Myriad Gardens on November 8th from 2pm-3pm! This completely FREE event provides both an opportunity to enjoy some relaxed exercise and learn a little bit more about the community service and volunteer opportunity provided by CASA.
The yoga session will be led by Kristi Birk Steinberg, manager of KeepMovingOKC, a physical activity events calendar for Central Oklahoma and a wellness initiative of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation. Birk Steinberg has been a coach, trainer, and group fitness instructor for over 15 years and currently teaches yoga, barre and cycling.
CASA of Oklahoma County provides trained court appointed volunteers who advocate for the best interest of abused or neglected children in the juvenile court system. Our organization provides an integral and arguably crucial role in the court process, but many in our community haven’t yet heard of the Oklahoma County CASA program!
When a child is removed from the home due to abuse or neglect, what begins can be the scariest time of their young life – the journey through foster care. It is the duty of our volunteers to familiarize themselves with the child and those involved in the case to make best interest recommendations to the judge. The goal? To find a safe, permanent home for every child in the foster system, either through reunification, adoption, or some other long-term placement.
Swing by and chat with Kathy before or after yoga! You can also reach out by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope you will join us!
