CASA of Oklahoma County provides trained court appointed volunteers who advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system. These advocates provide an integral and arguably crucial role in the court process, but many are currently unserved and waiting for a CASA. When a child is removed from the home due to abuse or neglect, what begins can be the scariest time of his or her young life – the journey through foster care. CASA Volunteers familiarize themselves with the child and those involved in the case to make best interest recommendations to the Judge. The goal? To find a safe, permanent home for every child in the foster system either through reunification, adoption, or another long-term placement.
Join the staff of CASA of Oklahoma County for our CASA Open House!
This is an opportunity to learn about the CASA experience, visit a juvenile courtroom, and meet some of the people who speak up for the hundreds of children in Oklahoma County’s foster system.
A CASA Open House event is free to the public and will feature a brief introduction to CASA’s work in the community as well as some testimonials and a Q&A with a longtime CASA volunteer as well as our staff members. Light refreshments will be provided.
Can’t make the CASA Open House? No problem. Our recruitment team is eager to meet one on one with anyone interested in learning more about CASA. We aren’t here to talk you into anything, only make sure you know everything you need to determine if Child Advocacy is right for you. If you are concerned about the abused and neglected children in our community and want to make a difference, we bet it is.
CASA Volunteers come from many walks of life, have many backgrounds, family situations, and schedules. We provide multiple training options throughout the year to ensure scheduling needs are met. We are happy to discuss the training options with you and find the best fit.
