We are beginning the third year of our CASA Book Club. To refresh your memory, any book read that covers the topics mentioned previously will count for training when accompanied by a completed Professional Development Credit Report. If a CASA Book Club is read and you come to the book club discussion for that book, the Professional Development Credit Report is not required. Books are counted as 2.5 hours for every 100 pages read. We are still looking for books to add to our club, if you have suggestions, please let me know!

April Book Club: To The End of June: The Intimate Life of American Foster Care by Cris Beam
Cris Beam, a foster mother herself, spent five years immersed in the world of foster care looking into these questions and tracing firsthand stories. The result is To the End of June, an unforgettable portrait that takes us deep inside the lives of foster children in their search for a stable, loving family. Beam shows us the intricacies of growing up in the system—the back-and-forth with agencies, the rootless shuffling between homes, the emotionally charged tug between foster and birth parents, the terrifying push out of foster care and into adulthood. 313 pages, 7 ½ hours of training
